Founded by a scholarly order — locally called the Keepers — devoted to preserving and studying pre-Diaspora and Precursor knowledge. Traditionalist, calm, insular, but genuinely welcoming to anyone who comes with real curiosity rather than a treasure map.
Exports education, historians and translators for hire, and finely-made goods from a culture that prizes craftsmanship over volume. Imports raw materials, modern ship components, and machinery — the Keepers respect tradition, not primitivism.
Comfortable, unflashy. “We spend on books, not baubles” is as close to a local motto as Ophira has.
The Archive's oldest sublevel has been sealed for as long as anyone can find records of. The Keepers will only say that “it isn't ready to be read yet” — and that whatever's down there predates even their earliest founding documents.

Places
A temperate, terraformed world. Its capital is a city built among immense, perfectly clear Precursor domes and around the Keepers' original library-fortress, still organized around both — home to the Fray's largest surviving collection of pre-Diaspora records and fragmentary Precursor artifacts.
A quieter agricultural moon that supplies Ophira Prime. Large enough, and close enough, that the two hang in each other's skies as a matched pair and share a tide — Archive astronomers insist on the word moon, and everyone who lives on either one says the twins. A simple farming community, deeply respectful of Archive-sanctioned tradition.
